The docum
ent on the set shows that he was enlisted in the communist army in 1960.
The magnification of the device is 8 times, the lens diameter is 45 mm. The device is equipped with an oversized objective lens for improved clarity and contrast (aperture ratio). The total length of the periscope is 56.5 cm, the extension length is 42 cm. Smooth diopter adjustment of the eyepiece is from -6 to +6 diopters, which will allow almost anyone to get a clear and high-quality picture without using glasses. The optical elements are coated with antireflection coating. Also in the field of view of the device there is a 360-degree goniometric grid to determine the distance to objects with known dimensions. History of the TR-8 periscope:
A new model of a periscope with 8x magnification was created in 1945 by the ZOMZ factory. Only a few of them were made for trials, mass production started in 1948. The earliest 1948 dated periscopes had a feature that was similar to the trial model - the top part of the tube became thicker from bottom to the top, almost immediately after production started the design was updated and the tube became one-size
.
In the 1950's construction of the TR-8 periscope was updated, the top part (objective) was redesigned, the tube was updated with a dehydration capsule. The early construction objective reflected image using a prism, later, with a mirror.
