You can use 2pcs AA size batteries to power the applicator(Batteries not included).
All you do is fill up the cup with flocking grass use the alligator clip as a ground, turn on the applicator and shake the material over your layout.
The whole thing is to get the fibers to stand up vertically, so glues are important, because these don't bead up on the material, but rather get between fibers.
