Germany Very Rare Sandman Series Circa  1915 Child's Serving Plate
Play Dishes Set
This extremely rare child's serving platter was beautifully made in Germany.
This is from the Sandman Series
There are no chips, cracks in this platter which is 9.75" in length x 6" in width ~
This outstanding platter has an adorable child waking up from a night's sleep - the sun is smiling &  looking down on her ~
There are 4 charming stencils around the decorative plate ~ From top to right to bottom to left...
1 - a village cathedral
2 - a cherub hanging stars in the sky
3 - a rooster and his 3 hens
4 - a wanderer with his dog
This exquisite plate has raised beading and scalloped edges trimmed in gold ~
My mother received these porcelain child's dishes when she was 4 years old - she was born in 1911 ~ I only have a few pieces remaining of the extensive set - this meat or serving platter, four 6" soup bowls, four 6" salad bowls, and three 5.25" plates.
I have a photo of her receiving these dishes at Christmas  time 1915 along with several dolls, a doll carriage and a doll fancy bed!
There is also a rare salt cellar and a 4.5" square serving piece ~ The logo on the  I have a photo of her receiving them at Christmas Time when she ws 4 years old, along with several dolls, doll carriage and a doll bed! back reads

In all my research I have never found anything even similar to this German child's play set~
It is extremely charming and in excellent, excellent condition!
